Diapers

Diapers are little disposable pants you put on babies so they don't shit and piss all over the place. Sometimes they are only baby pants that you wash after the baby uses them, and use them again.

If you are using diapers incorrectly, you can cause serious problems for your baby. Here's what you need to know about using disposable diapers.

* Buy the right size diaper. Diapers are bought according to the weight of the baby. If you get diapers that are too small, shit and piss will come out of the diaper. A too small diaper can also cause it to pinch the baby's waist and legs, causing skin damage, bleeding, rashes and infections.

* Change the diaper when it is full of piss. Disposable diapers are designed so they can be left on for several hours if they are not full of piss. Babies will usually pee several times in one hour, so you don't have to change the diaper every time the pee.

* Change the diaper after the baby shits. But be aware that they may shit again as soon as you change the diaper.

* If the baby is shitting frequently, take note, as this may be the sign of a bad stomach or other medical problem.

* Do not leave diapers on for more than 6 hours.

* When changing diapers, examine your baby's waist, legs and genitals to see if the diapers are causing a problem.

* If your baby has a rash, or other injury anywhere inside a diaper, consider keeping the diapers off until the problem is solved. If not, you can cause the problem to get worse.

* Keep a few diapers with you when you take the baby outside the home. Usually, you can buy diapers everywhere in Cambodia, but if you buy them in small packages, they cost more.

* Do not keep soiled diapers in your trash can for more than one day. They attract flies and other bugs, which can cause disease.

* Always wrap up the diaper before throwing it away. You can use the sticky tabs on the diaper to do this easily.

* Wash the baby before putting on a new diaper. If they only peed in the diaper just use water. If there is shit in the diaper, make sure the baby is clean before putting on a new diaper.

* Make sure the baby is dried before putting on a new diaper. Wetness can cause many problems.

* If you notice and blood in the pee, this is a serious medical problem to solved immediately

* If you notice any blood in the shit, this is also a serious problem.
